Joe Brocato


Originally from Alexandria Louisiana, Joe Brocato enlisted in the United States Army in 1989 as a helicopter mechanic. He received a Bachelors in Aviation Management and Construction Management from Northeast Louisiana University and was commissioned through the Army ROTC program as a Second Lieutenant in May 1991.

Starting his military career as an Army Aviation Officer, Joe was Distinguished Graduate of the US Army Flight School at Fort Rucker and became a full-time member of the Louisiana Army National Guard where he served for over 32 years.

After completing flight training in march 1993, Joe has held numerous key command and staff assignments over the duration of his military career.  Joe’s assignments include Assault Company Commander, Assault Battalion Operations Officer, MEDVAC Company Commander, Theater Aviation Operations Group Executive Officer, Aviation Battalion Commander, Army Aviation Support Facility Commander, and Garrison Commander. Joe has had several deployments including two combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.  Joe is qualified in the UH-1 (Huey), OH-58 (Kiowa), EC-145 (Lakota), and the UH-60 (Blackhawk) helicopters.  Joe is also a qualified Standardization Instructor Pilot in the Lakota and Blackhawk helicopters.

Joe received a Master’s of Strategic Studies from the US Amy War College in 2016 and retired as a Colonel from the US Army in 2021.  Upon his retirement, Joe joined the Million Air team.
