Scott Gilchrist


Scott Gilchrist is a lifetime resident of Topeka Kansas, who comes to us after a 31 year career with the Topeka Police Department. From his early days as a patrolman, working his way through the ranks with the Response Team, the Anti-Crime team and as a K-9 Handler, Scott landed the opportunity to become a helicopter Pilot with the Police Department.  He continued through the ranks as a Detective, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and Major with Field Operations, Support Operations, Criminal Investigations and Patrol Bureau.  Scott finished up his last four years as the Executive Officer to the Chief of Police and Bureau Commander of Field Operations.  Scott is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and is a Certified Public Manager through Kansas University while attending KU Law Enforcement Leadership Academy.  

Scott also has 20 years of Military experience and is a retired Master Sergeant from the Kansas National Guard assigned to the 190th Security Forces Squadron.  During his time with the 190th, he completed multiple deployments and operations:  Turkey 2001 (Operation Northern Watch), Afghanistan 2001 (Detainee transport), China 2005 (Phoenix Raven/Aircraft Security), Afghanistan 2006 (Bagram Internment Facility/Detainee Convoy Operations), South America 2007 (Phoenix Raven/Aircraft Security), Iraq 2008 (Air Base Ground Defense) and Africa 2009 (Operation Flintlock).

Scott is supported by his wife Liz who is a nurse manager for Stormont Vail Hospital, Son Brent (24) who is a graduate of Rockhurst University and serves as a business analytics expert for a large Kansas City financial institution, Son Tyler (19) who is serving in the United States Marine Corps assigned to Attack Helicopter Squadrons, Step Daughter Amber (25) and Step Son Austin (18).
